Building a Business Web Site

I don't have a computer yet. Can I start building a business web site from the public library?

Hi Mike,

What a great question!

I went to have a chat with the Librarian at our local branch and she confirmed that you can. However, she did go on to explain that different libraries have different policies.

Actually, you can build a website any where as long as you are able to use a computer that allows you to log into your web hosting service using a User ID and Password.

The libraries in my neck of the woods allow the public to use logins to check their email accounts and to make online purchases but I'm not sure if that is true for all libraries.

I think that having a conversation with the Librarian at your local library would be your best approach.

All I would do is explain that you would like to start working on building a business web site using the library's computers since you don't have one. Explain that website hosting companies require a login and password in order to work on building a website.

I can't imagine that it would be a problem but one never knows about all the different policies in place these days.

Good Luck!

Sue

Building a Business Web Site Using a Public Computer

I do!

I live in a very small village type town with a tiny library. I have created two ebusiness blogs using Google Blogger at my library. I am able to log-in to my Google account as well as the different affiliate programs I use to generate income.

Even if your library has a policy against using their computers to log-in to personal accounts, talk to your Librarian and explain your situation. Chances are they will make an exception. After all, they are a public facility, paid for with your tax dollars!
