Cheap Domain Name and Web Hosting Packages

I've spent the better part of a month researching cheap domain name and web hosting packages. What website hosting service would you recommend? I want to start my own website so I can sell my consulting services online.

What will I need in to look for in web hosting packages that will give me all the features I will need in order to create a good website?

I have learned that some companies offer cheap domain name registration but charge extra (a LOT extra) for hosting a website.

Then there are other companies that include the domain name registration along with the site hosting in their fee but have a limit on the server space and number of web pages you can have.

Many web hosting services seem to have quite a few "add on" fees too. (How annoying is that?) I hate having to read through pages and pages of hype to figure out what I actually get included in the fees.

For instance, if I wanted to send out a monthly newsletter, or have a blog, or forum (which I do) then those would be extra charges each month. What's the deal with that? Do you know how much all these fees add up to over time?

I don't really have much in the way of start-up cash. Well, to be perfectly honest I don't have any cash but I am willing to devote as much as my time possible to building a viable website so that I can extend the market for my consulting business.

Can you tell me what you think would be the best website host provider to get everything I need that includes both a cheap domain name and web hosting so I can get working on starting my website?
