Emailing The Author of Free Articles

Free Articles
If you're using any of the free articles from an article submission site (such as ezinearticles.com), send the author of the article an email letting them know you used it with a link of where it can be found on your site.
I started to use this strategy when I had a few people email me after they posted one of my articles on their site.
What did I do? I went and looked of course!
If I liked the site and felt it would help my own visitors in some way, I'd post a link on my site to theirs in return.
That of course made me realize...
If I did that, why wouldn't others do it for me?
So now, if I use a free article, I let the author know. Sometimes they'll freely post a link to my site, sometimes not (I never ask them to). But it's nice when they do.
It's a nice simple, free way to generate more links to your site (along with visitor traffic) without actually requesting a link exchange. They do it because they like your site and actually want to link to it... not because they feel an obligation from the "post on mine, I'll post on yours" mentality.
