Cost to Build a Website

What is the monthly or yearly cost to build a website? Is it cheaper if I build a website myself or would it be more cost efficient to have a website built for me? I've tried to research all the costs associated with building a website but have found the information confusing and contradictory.

Is there a monthly hosting fee in addition to the cost to build a website or are they one in the same? Are there hidden costs or other expenses to consider?

If I want a professional looking website to sell my own product what would be the most cost efficient way to get it started very quickly since I don't have a lot of time to devote to learning how to do this myself right now. I would also need a way for customers to purchase my product right from my website.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

First you need a web host. Since you want to sell your own product you will need to select a website host that can accommodate a "shopping cart" and payment processor. Ejunkie, Google, PayPal, and for electronic goods, Clickbank all have "plug-in" shopping card and a payment processor that can be added to most any website.

If you want to have your site built for you, then many web hosts offer that service as well. The price can range from $1,500 upwards to tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
